man u Up Man UTD!! Di Maria Leads The Way As Manchester United Ease To A 4-0 Win Over QPR
United eased to a 4-0 win over QPR as Angel Di Maria took centre stage for Louis van Gaal’s retooled side. The Dutchman handed debuts to Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo, with Radamel Falcao starting the game on the bench, while Di Maria made his Old Trafford debut for the Red Devils. After a quiet opening 20 minutes where Harry Redknapp’s side rarely ventured past the half-way line, it was the £59.7million man who opened the scoring.

The former Real Madrid playmaker was on free-kick duty, swinging in a long range effort from the right-hand side after Ander Herrera was fouled, with the curling delivery evading everyone and beating Rob Green in the goal.

The Argentine was the catalyst behind the Red Devils’ second, as he went on a surging run through the midfield, finding Rooney in the box, who’s pull-back fell to Herrera on the edge of area. The Spaniard’s low right-footed effort found the bottom left-hand corner of the net for his first goal in a United shirt.

Louis van Gaal’s men struck for a third time just before the half-time whistle, as Rooney and Herrera switched roles when the Spaniard played in his skipper, as Rooney took advantage of some lax defending by his former team-mate Rio Ferdinand to slot home from the edge of the box.

A fourth arrived before the hour mark, when Di Maria found Juan Mata on the edge of the six yard box and the former Chelsea man smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

Falcao came on to a rapturous response after 67 minutes and the Colombian loan man had a chance to open his account with seven minutes remaining when he was first to the rebound after Green parried Blind’s long range effort, but failed to beat the QPR stopper
