Man United confirm LVG “hopes to bring in new players” on Facebook

There have been steady rumours since Saturday’s surprise home defeat to Swansea that Manchester United would finally get their act together in signing players during the final two weeks of the summer transfer window.

This now looks likely with Roma defender Mehdi Benatia thought to be heading to Manchester for talks over a major deal.

And, United continue to be linked with Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Arturo Vidal and even Angel Di Maria.

In quite a rare move, Manchester United made the following announcement on Facebook: “Louis van Gaal has confirmed he hopes to bring new players to United before the end of the transfer window. ‘I thought that before this match,’ the Reds boss said after defeat to Swansea. ‘That is not different… We have to wait and see.’”

It won’t help Ed Woodward in negotiating the deals but the Facebook post has close to 70,000 Likes as Manchester United fans demand reinforcements
