REPORT: iPhone 6 in Product Validation Stage, Entering Mass Production Soon

With each passing day, new purported details of the unannounced iPhone 6 surface online.

The latest details come via a Weibo user from China who citing Foxconn sources claims the next iPhone has entered the product validation test (PVT) stage - where the company detects any potential issues with the device that might affect the production.

Gforgames, citing Weibo user Xiang Ligang, notes that Apple's assembly line has manufactured small number of iPhone 6 units for a final quality control check.

The Cupertino-based giant can adjust the production line to ensure smooth flow if it detects an issue during the PVT stage. The report suggests that after successful completion of the PVT stage, the long-rumoured iPhone 6 will enter mass production.

Earlier reports had tipped that the rumoured 4.7-inch iPhone 6 might enter mass production during the third week of July, while the production of the alleged 5.5-inch iPhone 6 would start by second week of August. However, if the current report is to be believed there has been a possible delay in the production of the iPhone 6.

Reports had also suggested that Apple's iPhone manufacturer, Foxconn, was using around 10,000 robots named 'Foxbots' on its assembly line process for the iPhone 6 productions.

Multiple reports last week suggested that Apple would unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9. The date was almost in-line with previous leaks that pointed to amid-September launch for the next iPhone 6 models. If true, the launch date would correspond to the second Tuesday of September, a day that Apple used to unveil the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s last year.
