With the English Premier League widely regarded as the most-watched league in the World, eight England players have dominated the top 10 controversial list for players found of committing offences ranging from foul to misconduct or both depending on the nature of the offence and the circumstances in which it occurs.
Here is a list of the 10-most yellow-carded players, although most are now retired from the game now.
Kevin Davies – booked 99 times
Davies is an England international, ranking highest for bookings in the Premiership. He played for (Southampton, Blackburn, Bolton) and currently plays for League 1 club, Preston North End.
Lee Bowyer – booked 99 times
Bowyer is a former English international footballer known for his temper, he played for Leeds, West Ham, Newcastle and Birmingham during his long career.
Paul Scholes – booked 97 times
One of the most decorated players in the league's history. Scholes is a one-club man and former English international footballer who played for Manchester United throughout his career, winning several medals and notably a member of the famous and highly regarded Class of 92 at United.
Gareth Barry – booked 96 times
Barry is an English international player who has played for Aston Villa, Manchester City and currently plays for Everton FC. He is a respected midfielder but can still go ahead to break the record for the highest number of yellow cards in his career.
Scott Parker – booked 92 times
Parker is a versatile former English international player who has played for Charlton, Tottenham and currently plays for Fulham FC.
Robbie Savage – booked 89 times
Savage is a Welsh footballer who played youthful football for Manchester United and later played for the likes of Crewe Alexandra, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Derby County.
