Lol :)... PDP accuses APC of destroying its campaign materials
The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged that there are incessant destruction of its billboards, flags, campaign posters, and banners of its governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike, in some parts of the state, with the latest incident over the weekend in Bori, headquarters of Khana Local Government Area by those the party claims are members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Special Adviser to the state chairman on media, Jerry Needam made the remarks shortly after visiting the PDP Secretariat and Campaign Office of Nyesom Wike, the governorship candidate of the PDP, over the weekend in Bori, to assess the damage carried out by alleged APC members on the PDP facilities and campaign materials.
The PDP accused the caretaker committee Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Mr. Gordon Tornwe of being behind the destruction of flags, billboards and campaign posters of the party and its candidate in Bori.
“We view the act as irresponsible, criminal and provocative. We also call on the Police to arrest the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Khana LGA, Mr. Gordon Tornwe,” he said.
“Ogoni people should continue to resist the APC in the area as the party does not represent the interest of the people.”
“The PDP calls on members of the party to remain calm, assuring that the police will bring to book those behind the destruction of its flags, banners and billboards and other items of the Party that have been tampered with by the opponents.
Tornwe said PDP should look inwards because a lot of their members are aggrieved over the outcome of their party primaries from the House of Assembly to governorship, where their loyalists accused the party of skewing the party structure in favour of certain candidates.
