See the top 9 Popular Nigerian Music Stars Really Struggling so hard To Release Another Hit Song (PHOTOS)

This is not a critic post however but a thought on these artistes work ethic, they may need to put in more work so they can reach previous heights.

In no particular order, here are my picks for the day!!

IYANYA

Triple MG co-owner Iyanya rose to fame after releasing his monstrous hit Kukere few years ago and he followed it up with another banging track “Ur Waist” featuring former label mate, Emma Nyra .

The singer released a very decent sophomore album titled Desire but has since struggled to release anything remarkable as compare to his past effort.

Every other 3 months Iyanya releases a new single but none has lasted on rotation. Even his last single Gift featuring Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy didn’t last on our eardrums.

KCEE

Good Boyfriend, Kcee like Iyanya released a chart breaking song his own is tagged Limpopo and like Iyanya followed it up with an array of decent singles with the last being Pull Over featuring Wizkid but since then, the Fashion Icon has been trying to reach previous heights but to no avail.

Mr. Kcee has since released 3 singles this year, Turn By Turn, Africa and the last one being Limba.

We can’t really remember what any of the songs sound like barely 4 months into the year.

Lynxxx

Jollof Music maker, Lynxxx has more hits that most artistes in the game right now with songs like “Change Your Parade”, “Fine Fine Lady” getting heavy rotation.

But in the past few months Lynxxx has not been able to command regular airplay neither has he been seen to headline any major show.

The singer in the past 8 months has released 4 singles and 4 videos with Ifeoma, Jeje, Leave Story and My Place. None of these songs is banging where we come from.

Wande Coal

Wande Coal’s first and only album Mushin 2 Mo’hits is notoriously remembered for containing hits back to back.

The album is described as a press play
album.

Wande has since raised the bar for himself as an artiste and was once an A list artiste until his nude leaked unto the internet years ago.

Damage control didn’t work that much but songs came on board.

The singer later on was at war with his former boss Don Jazzy and ever since we haven’t heard anything banging from Wande Coal and even his second album is taking longer than Detox.

D’Banj

For a man that has released a world rated hit single in Oliver Twist, D’Banj can well be described as struggling to make a massive comeback following his rift with production heavyweight, Don Jazzy.

At a point Banga Lee released a new song every 2 weeks but he appears to have slowed down in the past and his last effort was Feeling The Nigga, which was remixed to feature Akon.

Decent song but cannot be compared to recent heights like Suddenly, Mr. Endowed, Fall In Love and more!

Vector

For a rapper that has once been described as the best in the country, Vector has not done this title any good with his recent release.

The rapper took a relapse after his war with former record label YSG.

He came back with a mixtape tagged #A7 that promised many things but delivered none of it.

Vector appears to be getting shows with his single Shiga getting airplay but that is not where he promised to be.

9ice

9ice ’s struggle for more mainstream success is made obvious by his release of older music videos.

The politician-singer recently released a music video for Life Is Beautiful featuring 2face off his last LP and has began work on another old song, Pace Setter featuring another artiste on this list.

9ice is getting set to release his 8th studio album The Recent of King but he needs a hit single to push numbers.

Emma Nyra

26 year old single Emma Nyra came to the industry with everything she needs on her table and much is expected from her but she has since failed to deliver any single worthy of note.

It appears her record label Triple MG has grown tired of investing so much on her.

Emma has since left for the United States and has been doing her own thing.

Emma Nyra ’s last of many singles is For My Matter, a follow up to Elele featuring music star Davido.
2face Idibia
Legedary 2face Idibia is everything all Nigerian artiste want to be but it’s been a while we saw the father of 7 topping any music charts.

2face has been struggling for hits since “Ihe Neme” but it is hard to detect because he has more hit songs than any other musician in the country and thus can pick any song even “For Instance” and still have a great performance.

But of recent, 2face needs to do more as his last album didn’t live up to expectation.

Which musician should have made the list?

Who shouldn’t have?
